Madurai Metro Rail project to be commissioned in four years

The Madurai Metro Rail project, set to be commissioned within four years, will begin after receiving Detailed Project Report (DPR) approval from the central government. Currently, Southern Railway’s Madurai Division is remodelling the eastern terminal of Madurai railway station, which will be integrated with the metro station design for seamless passenger transfer. The project includes underground and elevated works, with elevated work taking two years and underground work requiring three years.
