Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared progress on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor project on social media. As of November 21, 2023, 251.40 km of pillars and 103.24 km of elevated super-structure have been accomplished. The project, costing ?1.08 lakh crore, involves innovative techniques like Full Span Launching and marks the first use of the J-slab ballastless track system in India. Noise barriers are being installed, and the breakthrough of the first mountain tunnel and erection of the first steel bridge are notable achievements in Valsad and Surat, respectively.
