Mumbai–Ahmedabad Bullet Train Tunnel Works Reach 80% at BKC

National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL)

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project has completed 80% of excavation at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) station, part of a 21-km underground and undersea tunnel to Shilphata. The tunnel includes 16 km by Tunnel Boring Machines and 5 km via the New Austrian Tunnelling Method. Base slab work is underway at BKC, Vikhroli, and Sawli. Simultaneously, elevated station works in Thane, Virar, and Boisar progress, with 44 km of piers cast and mountain tunnel excavation ongoing in Palghar.
