A significant development awaits commuters traveling between Bengaluru and Mumbai with the inauguration of the 72-kilometer Chitradurga-Davangere section of a new six-lane highway in Karnataka. This infrastructure milestone promises to bolster connectivity and substantially reduce travel time between the two bustling cities. With an estimated construction cost of Rs 1,400 crores, the project underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing transportation infrastructure. Furthermore, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) plans to incorporate sustainable practices, such as utilizing plastic in bituminous concrete and milling materials in service roads, to minimize future maintenance expenses.
