New Gati Shakti Cargo Terminal Opens in Odisha
East Coast Railway (ECoR)
A new Gati Shakti Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal (GCT) has been inaugurated at Brundamal in the Jharsuguda district, Odisha. Constructed on East Coast Railway land, the project was completed within one year and began operations in September 2025. The terminal has an annual handling capacity of 4.38 million tonnes and will streamline the transportation of coal from the Talabira and Ib-Sardega regions.
