NHAI Begins Construction of New ROB at Katpadi

Roads and Highways Sector News India

The National Highways Authority of India has started building a new steel bowstring road over bridge at Katpadi railway station on the Mangalore–Villupuram Highway (NH-75) to reduce traffic congestion. The Rs 44.64 crore bridge, located beside the 30-year-old existing concrete ROB, will span 90.88 metres in length and 12.5 metres in width. It will include LED lighting, tiled walkways, and staircases connecting to the railway station. NHAI expects to complete the structure by September 2026, easing daily traffic movement for over 20,000 vehicles, including ambulances and school transport.
