The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has expanded its use of drone technology to record the progress of road projects, now including the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage. Previously, drone recordings were limited to the development, construction, and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) stages. The new initiative, which began in June 2021, will now also cover the existing condition of the area during the DPR stage. NHAI has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to engage agencies for capturing drone imagery throughout all stages of national highway projects.
