NLC India Commences Mining at Pachwara South Coal Block

NLC India Limited has commenced mining operations at the Pachwara South Coal Block in Dumka district, Jharkhand, with first mining activity recorded on 19 December 2025. The block has extractable reserves of 264.84 million tonnes and was allotted to Neyveli Uttar Pradesh Power Limited, a joint venture of NLC India and UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam. The coal is designated to supply fuel for the 3×660 MW Ghatampur Thermal Power Plant. The block has been developed through detailed drilling and is designed for annual production of 9 million tonnes with an average grade of G10.
