NMDC Limited has submitted a proposal for environmental clearance to expand operations at the Bailadila Iron Ore Deposit-14 in the Kirandul complex, located in South Bastar Dantewada District, Chhattisgarh. The expansion plan includes increasing the mine’s capacity from 5.0 MTPA to 10.0 MTPA of Run-of-Mine (ROM) iron ore and from 1.0 MTPA to 3.8 MTPA of waste excavation, resulting in a total excavation increase from 6.0 MTPA to 13.8 MTPA. Additionally, the project involves the construction of a new crushing plant with a capacity of 3,000 TPH and downhill conveyors, all within the mining lease area of 322.368 hectares.
