NTPC Transfers Two Jharkhand Coal Mines to NTPC Mining

NTPC has transferred its Chatti Bariatu and Badam captive coal mining projects in Jharkhand to its wholly-owned subsidiary NTPC Mining (NML) effective 1 October 2025. The transfer follows an amended business transfer agreement signed on 17 September. The Chatti Bariatu mine, operational since April 2024, has a production capacity of seven million tonne per annum and covers 646 hectares. The Badam block, with reserves of over 90 million tonne and a proposed capacity of up to 3 MTPA, remains under land acquisition. NML will manage all NTPC coal blocks and associated operations.
