Odisha Announces 70-km Four-Lane Highway Connecting Kalahandi and Nuapada

The Government of Odisha has announced an upgrade plan to widen the nearly 70-km Bhawanipatna-Khariar road from two to four lanes. The corridor expansion involves a capital outlay of ?640 crore for roadworks and an additional ?91 crore for bridge construction. The project scope encompasses the erection of five major bridges and 15 minor bridges, along with the repair and structural renovation of the existing bridge over the Tel river to facilitate safer agricultural logistics.
