PM Modi Inaugurates Key Railway Projects Across India

On January 6, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for several significant railway projects in Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana, and Odisha, aiming to enhance connectivity and promote socio-economic development. In Jammu and Kashmir, he inaugurated the new Jammu Railway Division, covering a 742.1 km stretch, including the Pathankot-Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla line, and highlighted the completion of the Chenab Bridge, the world’s highest railway arch bridge, to improve connectivity to Leh-Ladakh. In Telangana, he inaugurated the Charlapalli New Terminal Station in the Medchal-Malkajgiri District, constructed at approximately ?413 crore, designed to alleviate congestion at existing terminals and accelerate regional development. In Odisha, he laid the foundation for the Rayagada Railway Division Building of the East Coast Railway, aiming to enhance connectivity and support industrial growth in the region.
