Port terminal management expansion outside Gujarat with new projects at Kandla

Canal/Dam/Irrigation Sector News India

Deendayal Port Authority, Kandla, is set to expand operations outside Gujarat by managing terminals in Maharashtra and Karnataka, along with discussions with Gujarat Maritime Board. Initially focused on terminal management, the scope may later extend to full port operations. Kandla handled over 150 MMT cargo last year, 60% being petroleum products. To support growing trade, DPA is constructing a deep-draft multi-cargo berth of 18 MMT capacity and a 2.3 million TEU container terminal under PPP, due by September 2027.
