Raft Foundation Laid for Amaravati High Court

The Andhra Pradesh government has laid the raft foundation for the new High Court complex at Amaravati. The project was formally launched with commencement of construction activities. Designed by Norman Foster and Partners, the complex will have a built-up area of about 21 lakh sq ft and include 52 court halls. Courtrooms will be located on multiple floors, with the Chief Justices court on the eighth floor. The structure will consume about 45,000 tonnes of steel and forms part of seven major buildings under construction in Amaravati.
