A Rs 178 crore drinking water project in Jajpur district, Odisha, intended to serve 35 Gram Panchayats in Dasarathpur block, remains incomplete since its 2019 launch, leaving nearly two lakh people without reliable water. Pipeline installation in 25 panchayats is done, but NH-20 widening and administrative delays have stalled progress. Villagers rely on limited tube wells amid worsening scarcity and allege contractor underperformance. Work is expected to resume post road widening completion.
