SAIL plans expansion of Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is expanding and modernizing its Bokaro Steel Plant in Jharkhand, increasing hot metal capacity from 5.77 MTPA to 9.10 MTPA and crude steel from 5.006 MTPA to 8.806 MTPA. The project includes capacity augmentation of existing units and installation of a 4500 cubic meter blast furnace, 2×165 T BOF, 1×2-strand TSCDR, a calcination plant, and auxiliary facilities like micro-pelletization and briquetting units.
