Southern Railway Floats Rs. 856-Crore New Line Tender

Southern Railway has issued a tender for constructing a new broad-gauge line between Tindivanam and Arani in Tamil Nadu at an estimated cost of Rs. 856.18 crore. The 82 km project will be completed in 24 months under the EPC model and includes civil works, utility shifting, and 2×25 kV electrification. The tender covers two reaches — Tindivanam–Cheyyar and Cheyyar–Arani — with bid submissions closing on December 16, 2025.
