Tata Power plans pumped storage project in Pune district

The Tata Power Company Limited (TPCL)

Tata Power plans to develop a pumped hydro storage project at Shirawta in Pune district, Maharashtra, as part of its agreement with the state government to establish 2,800 MW of hydro storage capacity. The Shirawta project, estimated at around Rs. 11,000 crore, will enhance renewable energy storage and grid stability. Construction is expected to begin by July 2026, with completion targeted within five years
