Thane’s Ghodbunder Highway upgrade targets January 2026 completion deadline

Upgradation work on Thane’s Ghodbunder Highway is targeted for completion by January 2026, easing congestion on a key corridor linking Mumbai’s eastern and western suburbs. Ongoing works include merging service lanes with the main carriageway, road concretisation, repairs, and utility shifts. Major sections, including the Gaimukh Ghat stretch, are being resurfaced to improve safety and traffic flow. The project supports long-term mobility enhancement for commuters travelling toward Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Gujarat, and North Maharashtra, alongside parallel civic-infrastructure improvements.
