The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has decided to relocate the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospitals medical college to a new building at Lodha Luxuria in Majiwada, Thane. Known as Kalwa Hospital, it currently has 500 beds and 21 outpatient departments (OPs) that handle approximately 2,500 patient visits daily. The relocation will create additional space, and the second and third floors of the new building are expected to increase patient capacity to 750 or even 800 beds in the future, enhancing healthcare services in the area.
