Udangudi Thermal Plant Commissioning Delayed to Next Summer
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO)
The commissioning of the Udangudi Supercritical Thermal Power Plant, initially scheduled for September, has been delayed, with power generation now expected to begin next summer. Approximately 90% of the work on Unit 1 has been completed. The project consists of two 660 MW units, with a total investment of Rs. 13,076 crore. Originally announced in 2012, construction commenced in 2017.
