West Bengal to Build 5-Km Gangasagar Sethu Bridge to Boost Access

In a move to enhance connectivity to Sagar Island, the West Bengal government will independently construct the ‘Gangasagar Sethu’, a five-kilometer bridge over the Muri Ganga river. The Rs 1,500 crore project, which follows a lack of response from the Centre, aims to improve access to the island, particularly during the annual Gangasagar Mela. The bridge is expected to be completed in four years, offering a vital link for pilgrims and local residents.
