The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has cleared a 20.4-km four-lane western ring road for Vellore city, Tamil Nadu, with an outlay of Rs 753 crore. Starting from Vandranthangal on NH-75, the bypass will ease congestion and improve regional access to Adukkamparai, Arani, and Tiruvannamalai, while enabling through traffic to bypass Vellore. Designed with a 50-mtr. right-of-way for future expansion, the project includes drainage and bridges to mitigate flooding and aims to cut travel time by 30–45 minutes.
