Yadadri Thermal Power Project Progresses in Telangana

The 800 MW Unit 1 of the Yadadri Thermal Power Station (YTPS) has been commissioned near Damaracherla in Nalgonda district, Telangana, marking the second operational unit of the planned 4,000 MW (5×800 MW) plant. Developed by Telangana Power Generation Corporation (TGGENCO), YTPS is set to become Indias largest public-sector thermal power project. An integrated township is also being developed at the site on 55 acres at a cost of ?970 crore. Units 3 and 4 are scheduled for commissioning in October and December 2025, with full project completion expected by January 2026.
