NCRTC Begins Meerut Metro Trial Runs on RRTS

National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC)

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has begun trial runs for the highly-anticipated Meerut Metro, a major step towards launching metro services in the city. This will be the first local metro system in India to operate on the same RRTS corridor as the semi-high-speed Namo Bharat train. The RRTS line is currently operational from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South, with full operations expected by June 2025.
