Bengaluru Metro Phase-II budget review underway; Phase-3A vetted

The Union Government is reviewing the revised cost estimate for Bengaluru Metro Phase-II after Karnataka Cabinet approval. Phase-3A, a 37-km corridor estimated at ?2,840 crore, is under cost assumption vetting by an expert agency. Following state responses, the proposal will seek Union Cabinet approval. Bengaluru currently operates 75 km of metro and is constructing 145 km. The government also urged acceleration of legacy waste remediation and adoption of Swachh Bharat Circularity reforms for 2025–26.
