The Delhi government is planning to install solar panels over the Munak Canal to reduce water loss, generate clean electricity, and enhance safety. The project involves building four-foot-high side walls along the canal’s Delhi stretch, over which solar panels will be mounted. Currently in the feasibility and planning stage, the initiative aims to modernize this critical water supply channel. A detailed project report and technical design are expected soon to guide implementation of the proposed infrastructure.
