Infrastructure projects under the North Chennai Development Scheme were launched on 1 January 2026. Works include inauguration of the Broadway 33/11 kV substation constructed by TANGEDCO at a cost of ?18.24 crore, inspection of 15-lakh-litre water storage tanks built by Metrowater costing ?27 crore, commissioning of 128 streetlights on Prakasam Road costing ?1.26 crore, and foundation laying for the Chief Minister’s Study Centre and Modern Library estimated at ?23.06 crore. The projects cover power supply, water storage, street lighting, and educational infrastructure in North Chennai.
