Apple Plans to Build 78,000 Housing Units for Factory Employees in India

Apple has announced a groundbreaking initiative to enhance the living conditions of its factory employees in India by constructing over 78,000 housing units, making it the largest private sector project of its kind. This ambitious housing project aims to improve the well-being and security of Apple’s workforce. Scheduled for completion by March 2025, the project will primarily benefit employees in Tamil Nadu, where the largest iPhone manufacturing plant in India, owned by Foxconn, is located. Approximately 58,000 of the housing units will be situated in Tamil Nadu, underscoring Apple’s commitment to supporting its workforce and fostering sustainable, inclusive growth in the region.
