BHEL wins Rs. 22.87 crore Kavach contract

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited

Bharat Heavy Electricals has received a letter of intent from South Western Railway for a contract to design, supply, install, and commission Kavach automatic train protection systems. The scope covers on-board equipment for locomotives, trackside installations at stations, crossings, IB sections, and ABS locations. Manufactured at Bengaluru, the units will integrate with railway infrastructure. Execution timeline is 18 months. Kavach aims to improve railway safety, prevent SPAD incidents, and reduce accidents nationwide.
