Greenko plans 1000 MW pumped storage project in Salem

Greenko Energies Private Limited

Greenko Energies is developing a 1000 MW off-stream closed-loop pumped storage project near Navappatti Village, Mettur Taluk, Salem District, Tamil Nadu. The project will use 0.225 TMC water from Stanley Reservoir (Mettur Dam) for power generation with 6.09 hours storage capacity. Spanning 274.94 hectares, including 179.46 hectares of forest land, the project is expected to be completed in 3.5 years.
