As part of its evaluation, the Centre’s Network Planning Group (NPG) reviewed the 147 km Hosur-Omalur Doubling project, which focuses on improving rail connectivity between the agro-industrial region of Hosur and the commercial hub of Salem in Tamil Nadu. The project is expected to boost regional freight movement and strengthen economic ties.
