MCD Advances Multi-Level Parking Projects to Tackle Parking Woes Across Delhi
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) is actively forging ahead with plans to develop three multi-level parking facilities strategically located at Rani Bagh, Shastri Park, and Rajendra Nagar. In a bid to ensure seamless execution, MCD is in the process of finalizing agencies and enlisting the services of a dedicated project management consultant.
Moreover, MCD aims to augment project oversight by engaging a consultant tasked with conducting comprehensive site visits, crafting detailed project reports, and formulating tender documents. These initiatives underscore MCD’s commitment to resolving persistent parking challenges prevalent in the region.
The projected costs for these transformative endeavors have been earmarked at Rs 118.8 crore for Rani Bagh, Rs 96.5 crore for Rajendra Nagar, and Rs 96.8 crore for Shastri Park, as unanimously approved during a recent MCD house meeting.
With surface parking facilities falling short of meeting burgeoning demand, the prevalence of illegal parking and resulting traffic congestion has become a pressing concern. The introduction of multi-level parking solutions is poised to alleviate these issues significantly.
While the tendering process is already underway, the finalization of rates and agency selection will be deliberated upon in a subsequent MCD house meeting following the conclusion of the Lok Sabha elections.
