Detailed project reports for Metro Rail expansions along Avinashi and Sathyamangalam road in Coimbatore (Rs 10,740 crore) and connecting Thirumangalam to Othakkadai in Madurai (Rs 11,368 crore) have been submitted to the Union Government for approval on an equity-sharing basis. Once approved, these projects will move into the execution phase, enhancing public transportation infrastructure in both cities.
