North Urimari Opencast Coal Mine Expansion at Hazaribag

Central Coalfields is seeking environmental clearance for the expansion of the North Urimari Opencast Coal Mine located in Potanga and Urimari villages, Barkagaon Block, District Hazaribag, Jharkhand. The proposal aims to increase production capacity from 4.50 MTPA to 6.00 MTPA within a mining lease area of 504.14 hectares, compared to the earlier clearance granted for 4.50 MTPA over 523.06 hectares vide File No. J-11015/307/2005-IA.II(M) dated 01.05.2024.
