Pawana Falyan Pumped Storage Project will span Pune and Raigad districts in Maharashtra. It includes two dams: the upper dam near Kurvande village in Mawal tehsil, Pune, and the lower dam in Falyan village, Sudhagad tehsil, Raigad. The lower reservoir will reach Full Reservoir Level (FRL) using self-yield from the catchment, while the upper reservoir will be initially filled up to Minimum Drawdown Level (MDDL) using water from Pawana Lake, located approximately 1.6 km away.
