Porvorim Elevated Corridor Sees Cost Escalation

Rajendra Singh Bhamboo Infra Private Limited (RSBIPL)

The 5.15-km six-lane elevated corridor along NH-66 in Porvorim, under construction since April, has seen a cost escalation of Rs.70 crore due to deeper piling requirements, increasing the total project cost from Rs.365 crore. Piles now need to extend 45-47 meters below ground for structural stability, compared to the initially planned 16 meters. The contractor, Rajendra Singh Bamboo Infra Pvt Ltd (RSBIPL), has submitted a claim for the additional cost to MoRTH for approval. Despite the overrun, the project remains on track for completion by 2026, aiming to reduce traffic congestion significantly.
