POWERGRID Wins Licence for 3 GW Karnataka Renewable Grid Infrastructure

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has secured an inter-state transmission project license from CERC to unlock an additional 3 GW of clean energy potential in Karnataka. Implemented on a BOOT basis under the name POWERGRID Bellary Davanagere Transmission Limited, the grid strengthening project involves a new 400 kV double-circuit line and the expansion of pooling stations at Bellary (2.75 GW) and Davanagere (0.25 GW) to evacuate power for developers including NTPC RE and Acme Solar.
