Railways approves Rs. 764 crore Ferozepur–Patti regional link project

Railways Sector News India

The Ministry of Railways has approved the Rs. 764 crore Ferozepur–Patti rail link in Punjab, spanning 25.72 km. The project will halve the Ferozepur–Amritsar travel distance and shorten the Jammu–Ferozepur–Fazilka–Mumbai corridor by 236 km, improving freight and passenger movement. It revives a historic route lost during partition and enhances logistical access to Gujarat ports. The rail link is expected to improve defence connectivity and support regional mobility across the Malwa and Majha regions.
