Rungta Sons has applied for environmental clearance for the Alaknanda Coal Mine covering 1,102 hectares across several villages in Angul district, Odisha. The proposal includes opencast extraction of 10 MTPA with a projected mine life of 46 years. The project area includes 754.039 hectares of forest land requiring statutory approvals.
