Surface Water Supply Project Begins at Kharar, Chandigarh

The first phase of a Rs. 22.15 crore surface water supply project has been launched at New Sunny Enclave, Jandpur Road, Kharar, Chandigarh, under the Rs. 150 crore Kajauli Water Supply Project. Scheduled for completion by September 2026, it will benefit Jhungian, Mandair Nagar, Harlalpur, Jandpur, and Chandigarh Road. Water will be sourced from GMADAs pipeline at Sihnpur, stored in a 54 lakh litre underground reservoir, supported by overhead tanks, and connected via 8.1 km of ductile iron pipelines.
