Tamil Nadu Aims Rs 75,000 Crore Defence Industrial Corridor Investments

The Tamil Nadu government has defined project parameters under the Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor to attract Rs. 75,000 crore in investments by 2032, with current confirmed projects worth Rs. 23,000 crore and shipbuilding MoUs totalling Rs. 15,000 crore. Project components comprise development of manufacturing campuses, testing and integration facilities, specialised tooling and fabrication units, advanced machining centres, composite and additive manufacturing lines, component testing laboratories, skill development centres and common user infrastructure. Implementation workstreams include land acquisition and servicing, phased infrastructure delivery, utility provisioning, public-private partnership frameworks, incentive disbursal mechanisms, establishment of regulatory and certification facilities, supply-chain clustering, and staged project rollouts to support scale-up of aerospace and defence manufacturing capacity.
