Uttar Pradesh Allocates Rs 45,000 Crore for Road Infrastructure in FY25

The Uttar Pradesh (UP) government has allocated approximately Rs 45,000 crore for investments in highways and tertiary roads during the current financial year 2024-25 (FY25). This substantial investment aims to enhance passenger and cargo movement across the state. The projects include the construction of bridges and over-bridges spanning all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Of the proposed budget, the public works department (PWD) is set to utilize nearly Rs 34,000 crore, accounting for 75%, while the remaining Rs 11,000 crore will be allocated for projects in villages, tehsils, block headquarters, international/interstate border roads, roads in sugar mill and industrial areas, and those under the ‘Dharmarth’ (religious tourist circuit) project.
