Coal PSUs Establish 16 Eco-Parks to Boost Tourism and Green Initiatives

Over the past five years, Coal and Lignite Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), guided by the Ministry of Coal, have developed 16 eco-parks and mine tourism sites near coal mining areas to promote tourism, recreation, and environmental regeneration. Companies like Coal India Limited (CIL), NLC India Limited (NLCIL), and Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) have implemented innovative green cover techniques, including Miyawaki plantations, seed ball plantations, bamboo cultivation, three-tier plantations, and drip irrigation on overburden dumps, alongside traditional afforestation methods.
